| Dear Reader,
Welcome to Rocky Link's 2009 Summer newsletter for information surrounding Rocky Point, Mexico. Here we'll touch on issues brought to our attention and clarify on problems that have directly affected Rocky Point traffic.
Rocky Point season started off on a good note with higher then expected January rentals. We were then hit with the negative publicity on safety issues which have never been a part of Rocky Point. This followed closely by the swine flu scare (read more below) with not a single recorded case in Rocky Point and the final touch to our perfect storm was the enforcement of Passports for land trvel which began June 1st.
What does this mean to you. Some of the best rental pricing seen in years, low gas prices, smaller crowds and better service. Rocky Point has never been a better deal then now to rent or own. Its time to take a break from reality and escape to the soft sand beaches and warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. We hope to see you down here soon. |

Swine Flu Scare
The swine flu, also known as a new strain of the Influenza A subtype H1N1 virus, was first reported by Mexican authorities on March 18th, 2009 in Mexico City, Mexico. Since then it has spread slowly through the eastern coast of Mexico and up to the United States by way of US tourists. If you live in Arizona then you are a witness of over 600 cases of swine flu, have you been affected? The cities in Arizona are much more condensed than cities in Sonora and there have been ZERO cases in Rocky Point, Mexico. The scare is nonexistent on the peaceful coastal waters of quaint Puerto Penasco where they look forward to returning tourists and are not fretting over the overreaction of world leaders and organizations. |
Rocky Point International Airport
The brand new Rocky Point International Airport is nearing completion. We were told that there would be an official ribbon cutting ceremony by Governor Bours around June 17th. Since we do not have confirmation we will not speculate only that it is getting very close. Once opened it will be able to accommodate most commercial airlines and will become a real international destination. Read more...
